TOYOTA MOTOR VIETNAM WITH RECORD ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2019

Although 2019 is a tough and challenging year with automobile market, Toyota Vietnam is continuously striving to achieve great accomplishment.

I. Business result

In 2019, TMV lined off 50,114 units and also remarks a new development milestone with the line off of 500,000th unit and welcomed Fortuner CKD back to assembly. TMV’s sales volume this year is on No.1 position in Vietnam market, with a record volume of 79,326 vehicles. Especially, Vios is the best-selling model in 2019, CKD models like Innova and Fortuner are always on the list of best-selling models

To achieve these proud accomplishment, Quality is always the most important factor in TMV’s commitment from the beginning of establishment. TMV launched the project “NO QUALITY. NO LIFE” to bring quality to a new level. Besides, as a global partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Toyota has launched a global initiative "Start Your Impossible" (SYI) to show the company goal to provide freedom of mobility for all. In Vietnam we have activated this initiative and would like to convey this spirit in every activity.

Fortuner & 500k unit line-off ceremony

II. Outstanding activities

New model: TMV launched new model Camry 2019 in April and introduced new versions of Fortuner in June. In addition, the upgraded version of Avanza and Land Cruiser were also introduced.

Dealers network: TMV launched 08 dealers/branches, bringing the total number of dealers to 63 in 30 provinces nationwide.

Investment: In 2019, TMV has invested about $13 million, contributing to the total investment up to approximately $230 million.

Export: TMV's export turnover reached about $64 million, contributing to the accumulated export turnover up to approximately $546 million.

Environment activities

In 2019, TMV has decreased 1,329 ton CO2, saved approximately 200,000 liter of diesel oil and 2 million Kw electric. Especially, under the guidance of TMV, 100% suppliers and 80% Toyota's dealers have successfully applied environmental management system and obtained ISO14001 certification. Specially, TMV focused on the "No single-use plastic challenge" program and joined the “Alliance against Plastic Waste”, signed a commitment and announced the action for the plastic waste prevention campaign directed by the Prime Minister.

CSR activities

To become “a good citizen in local community”, besides maintaining annual activities, TMV also accompanied with many Ministries and Departments such as: Ministry of Education & Training, Ministry of Natural resources and Environment, Ministry of Public Security, the National Traffic Safety Committee… to organize many meaningful programs in 4 areas: Traffic Safety; Education & Human Resource Development; Environment and Culture & Society.
