Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) and Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) continue to organize the Toyota Scholarships 2016 for excellent students majoring in technical and environment from universities nationwide. This is the 19th year for the program to be implemented, to encourage the learning spirit and promote the creativity in science researching for students in universities as well as to actively contribute to the human resources training and development for Vietnam industry in general and the automobile industry in particular.
Accordingly, in 2016, Toyota Scholarship Program continue to award 115 scholarships to 115 excellent students majoring in technical and environment from 16 universities nationwide with, with the total value of the program in 2016 reaches nearly 700 million VND (each scholarship value 6 million VND).
Especially, in this year, TMV also grant 32 technical equipments to support teaching facilities and activities in 16 universities. With the amount of technical equipment doubled than 2015, TMV hope to contribute more to Education – Training & HR development in Vietnam.
After 19 years of implementation, the Program has granted 2,038 scholarships with total value reaches nearly 26 billion VND, as well as over 90 technical equipments for teaching and studying of universities nationwide.
Besides a plant tour in TMV plant in Phuc Thang, Phuc Yen, Vinh Phuc province, in order to have overview of production line in TMV, the students also have chance to freely join the Monozukuri course - “know-how to success in manufacturing and business”. This course’s objective is to help the students to have a chance to approach and have a deeper knowledge in Toyota production system (TPS) as well as the know-how of Toyota corporation, then apply effectively in their work in the future. The next Monozukuri course for students that receive the scholarship this year is scheduled to be organized in January and February of 2017. In addition, in Toyota Technical scholarship 2016 Ceremony for universities from the North, for the first time, the program also organize “Career orientation seminar” for students and teachers from universities, to have an opportunity to discuss and exchange, as well as to have information for career direction in the future.
This year, Toyota Scholarship Program 2016 will be held in North - Middle - South from 20th to 28th Dec 2016. Accordingly, on today 20th Dec, the Awarding Ceremony is held at the Headquarter of TMV in Phuc Thang ward, Phuc Yen town, Vinh Phuc province for 65 students from 10 Northern universities. The ceremony for students in universities in the South and the Middle will be held in 23 and 28 December, in HCM city and Da Nang city.
