Ho Chi Minh city, May 22nd 2018 – Today, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has officially started “Toyota Junior Football 2018”. The Program will take place from June 10th 2018 to September 20th 2018. Under the support of Ministry of Education and Training, this is the 4th year that the program has been organized for the children who have passion for football within the age from 09 – 12. In addition, the TV program “When the ball rolls” has also been back and to be broadcasted in VTV6 channel.

Starting the Toyota Junior Football 2018

Toyota Junior Football program was firstly initiated by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP) in 2014, and TMV has been implementing in Vietnam from 2015. The Program’s purpose is to find and train young football talents, nurture their passion and love of football, by that contributing to raise the awareness about a strong body and spirit, raise the awareness of principle, helping them to have a healthy life, achieving good preparation for future life. Through searching and training young children, TMV hopes to contribute to the coming professional football player generation, contribute to the sustainable development of local football.

In the press conference, Ms. Hoang Do Thu – Vice President of TMV shared: “Up to now, we are very excited that the Program has truly become one of an annual sport activity that is warm welcomed by Vietnamese children. After 03 years of organization, the program welcomed nearly 8,000 kids nationwide participating in the selection days. 03 training camps in Ho Chi Minh city was organized in order to train 90 talented kids, and 03 Japan trips for 54 selected kids… Last year, the kids represented for Vietnam was excellently gained Silver prize in this trip. After Toyota Junior Football program, many kids have continued following professional football career and were recruited in football clubs such as HAGL, Becamex Binh Dzuong, SHB Danang, VPF, Viettel,…”

Continuing the success in Vietnam in the last 03 years, this year, TMV continue implementing the Toyota Junior Football program 2018.

This year program will welcome two new coaches – Duc Huynh Le and Binh Phan Thanh – the two faces that are well known by football lovers by their talents, knowledge and nice goal kicks. These are two names representing for two generations of Vietnamese football, but both of them have deep majority, experience and especially endless passion for football. This year in 04 selection days, the Program will have some new education – entertainment activities for the kids, in order for the events to be more meaningful.

In selection period taking place from June 10th to July 1st, beside 03 big annual cities – Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh, Toyota Junior Football will also be organized at Pleiku city, Gia Lai Province.

After training camp in Ton Duc Thang University, HCM city from July 10th to July 16th for 30 kids selected from the selection days, 18 best kids will be chosen to participate in the Japan trip from September 13th to September 20th. This year, in order for the kids to have more time to learn and experience culture, the time in Japan will be increased 01 more day (08 days instead of 07 days in 2017).

The organizer will receive application from today May 22th up to over July 1st 2018 (depending on location). The applicants may choose apply method through: online website; or at TMV dealers nationwide; at clubs/sport centers; or directly apply at event venue on selection days (please see reference information).



TV Program “When the ball rolls”


The TV program “When the ball rolls” is a part of Toyota Junior Football program, which follow and record all the journey of the kids from the beginning days to the end of the Japan trip, by that recording all the memorable moments of this year.


In 2018, “When the ball rolls” will be broadcasted weekly in 8 pm of Sunday on VTV6 channel from July 1st 2018. In addition, the Program will also be broadcasted on Youtube, Fanpage and Website of Toyota Vietnam.

Since the first establishment, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has been always making efforts to become “a good citizen in the local community” through many meaningful and sustainable social contribution activities, focusing on Traffic Safety, Education – Training & HRD, Environmental protection and Culture – Society.
