On 22nd Aug 2018, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) in cooperation with Communication Centre for Natural Resources and Environment (CCNRE), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) held the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony on the “Toyota – Green Vietnam Journey” program with the desire to join hand to improve environmental issue in Vietnam, especially air pollution.
The program will be implemented in 3 years from 2018 to 2021 with the main objectives as following:
- To contribute to enhancing awareness of community, especially the youth, on environmental protection through activities.
- To conduct and carry out activities to contribute to reducing and preventing natural resources exploitation and pollution in Vietnam, planting trees to combat climate change.

In the framework of the MOU, the “Toyota – Green Vietnam Journey” program will carry out main following activities:
1. “Toyota joins hand to make schools green” program
With the desire to contribute to a green landscape and space at schools to help pupils have a better environment, since 2017, the program has planted totally 2,200 trees at 17 schools in 6 provinces, cities including: Vinh Phuc, Nghe An, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh, Quang Binh and Can Tho. Especially, the program also has joining hands of local Toyota Dealers.
As plan, this year, TMV will continue to expand deployment in other localities in the coming September to further replicate the effectiveness of the program.
2. Other activity
In addition, TMV will collaborate with the CCNRE – MONRE to study and implement other activities in the coming time to contribute to enhancing environmental protection awareness of the community, especially the youth. Details will be updated in the coming time.
Since the first day of its establishment, TMV has always strived to become a “green” company. Not only by making non-stop effort to minimize environmental damage, investment in research and application of environmentally friendly technologies in the plant, TMV also supports dealers and suppliers to take part in activities that will improve and protect the environment with an aim of nurturing a “green circle”. In addition, many big programs on environmental protection with many practical and meaningful activities of TMV have received great appreciation and strong response of the whole society, especially the young generation. Through these, TMV wishes to contribute to improving the Vietnamese environment, improving the quality of life for the people and at the same time cultivating the thoughts and mindset of the young and the community on environment protection.
