Overcomes difficulties, Toyota Vietnam achieved impressive results

Hanoi, 10th April 2020 – In March 2020, the total sales volume of Toyota Motor Vietnam reaching 5,143 units (excluding Lexus models), although decreasing 44% compared to same period last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic’s affect, Toyota Vietnam still maintained its leading position in the market, in which Vios’s sales continued to rank at number 1 position of the market, Fortuner and Innova are also in the list of best-selling models of Vietnam automobile market.

Completely Knocked Down (CKD)

Last month, sales volume of Toyota Vietnam’s CKD models reached 3,543 units. Specifically, Vios reached 2,293 units, decreasing nearly 28% compare to the sales of March 2019, being number 1 position in Vietnam automobile market. Besides rejuvenating the design, Vios also has many improvements focused on safety and comfort to meet the needs of customers with attractive prices, in accordance with the income of Vietnamese people. Specifically in January 2020, for individual customers, the G version equipped Cruise control, front and rear corner sensors, reversing camera and TFT color screen. The E version is equipped with leather seats, reversing camera, the CD player has also been upgraded to a DVD player. Finally, aim for business customers, the E MT version is equipped with rear brakes from the drum to a disc, fog lights, PVC seats, reversing camera and outside rearview mirror has electric power. The price is completely competitive when the G CVT version is kept at the current price and only from 470 million VND for the lower versions. With the above reasons, Vios won the trust and love of Vietnamese customers.

Innova this month reached 544 units, decreased 68% and Corolla Altis reached 226 units, decreased 58%, Toyota Fortuner had 656 units sold, including 480 CKD models (accounting for 73% of Fortuner’s sales), decreased 19% compared to the same period last year.

Completely built-up (CBU)

In March, the total sales volume of Toyota's CBU models reached 1,600 units. Toyota Camry reached 420 units, increased 14%. Meanwhile, Hilux had 312 units sold, Rush’s sales volume is 310, Wigo and Yaris both recorded 162 units sold.

In March 2020, sales volume of Lexus is 78 units, accumulated sales reached over 6,300 units.

As an enterprise operating in Vietnam for 25 years, facing the complicated situation of Covid-19 pandemic, with the desire to join hands to fight the pandemic, share the difficulties with the Government and people nationwide, Toyota Motor Vietnam has donated 11.1 billion VND to Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Vinh Phuc province. Besides that, Toyota Vietnam has continuosly maintain social contribution activities such as transferring the Toyota Technical Training Program to 2 Colleges at the end of March.
