Hanoi, 5 Mar, 2015 – Based on Traffic Safety year plan of National Traffic safety committee, Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV), Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF) in cooperation with Department of Primary Education (Ministry of Education & Training - MOET) continue the “Toyota Traffic Safety Education Program” year 2014 -2015 and the 4th International Dream car drawing contest.
“Toyota Traffic Safety Education Program” in school year 2014-2015
Being one of the four main activities within framework of Toyota Vietnam Foundation, “Toyota Traffic Safety Education Program” (also called TSEP) is the first program to be implemented in the whole country with the aim of educating the traffic safety awareness for primary pupils nationwide. Annually operating from year 2005 – 2006, with the spirit of “learn through playing, play to learn”, TSEP has provided new teaching methods with interesting and helpful documents. In this way, learning traffic safety becomes more attractive, interesting and easy for pupils to remember.
After 9 years of implementation, with positive and meaningful activities in traffic safety education, TSEP program has reached good result. The program has provided more than 7.5 million traffic safety textbooks for primary pupils, 47,000 big-size teaching books, more than 65,000 VCDs, nearly 129,000 guiding books for elementary teachers. The program has also successfully organized 32 seminars about traffic safety for nearly 4,300 key managers and teachers from many primary schools, 52 provincial contests on traffic safety, 7 national contests and 3 Toyota “ Dream Car” Drawing Contests. Based on its success, MOET decides to use TSEP’s documents in teaching program on Traffic Safety for primary pupils nationwide.

High awareness and nice behaviors on traffic safety of young pupils will create positive effects for community, thus better traffic culture for Vietnam. That is the final target of TSEP. Therefore, with the aim of continuously improving the program quality, contents of this year’s program are designed with high practical knowledge and skills for the children to apply in real traffic. Especially, this year’s contests encourage teachers to show talents as well as creativeness in using visual handmade teaching aids to make it more effectively and easily to the children, bringing high effect to Traffic Safety Education at schools. Beside, many other activities will be held to attract the participation of parents as well as to share more traffic safety skills.
At the press conference, Mr. Pham Ngoc Dinh - Head of Primary Education Department, MOET said that: “Along with direction on adding contents about Traffic safety to primary teaching plan, MOET together with Toyota Motor Vietnam held “Toyota Traffic safety education program” from year 2005 – 2006 and achieved many positive results. It partly helped pupils to get basic understanding on Traffic safety law as well as the need of following those rules from primary school years. This program is very meaningful in terms of education, it brings many benefits in real life for pupils, schools and society”
The 4th Toyota Dream Car Drawing Contest
Toyota international drawing contest – “Dream car contest” is an annual activity held by Toyota Motor Corporation since 2004. With scheme of organization in over 80 countries and regions around the world, this contest has been gradually developing in both scale and quality, and become one of the most important social contribution activities.
In Vietnam, being held annually from year 2011 – 2012, after 3 years of operation, this competition became an annual event awaited by every child in Vietnam. Up to now, the organization board received over 1.1 million pictures from children all over the country. With the message “Drawing your future car, let your imagination shine…”, the contest is a very meaningful game in the field of traffic safety for pupils, to wake up the creative power and imagination to catch dreams about dream cars – the best vehicle, to satisfy every traffic demand in the future.
This year, the 4th Toyota Traffic safety picture drawing contest – “Dream car contest” is held for pupils under 15 years old in the whole country. This contest contains 2 rounds: national round and international round:
Especially, after 3 years of operation, competitors from Vietnam also received many prizes from Toyota international Dream car contest in Japan: 01 silver prize from 2012 (first operation year) for Linh Khanh Le (under 10 years old, student of Nguyen Luong Bang primary school, Hai Duong province) with a picture named “A car for people who suffered from flood”, 01 consolation prize from 2013 for Nam Vu Huy (under 8 years old, student of Tran Nhat Duat primary school, Hanoi) with a picture named “multi-purposed car”. Especially, 1 gold prize from 2014 for Mai Bui Thanh (under 8 years old), first grade of Le Hong Phong Primary school, Tam Diep town, Ninh Binh province.
Ms. Doan Thi Yen – Vice president of TMV shares that: “Through 9 consecutive years (2005-2015) with children in all over the country, TSEP has implemented new teaching method: “learning for fun and fun to learn” and received high appreciation of the Ministry and local Departments of Education and Training, as well as the enthusiastic responses from pupils, parents and teachers. It is the high motivation for us to continue this program with lots of kaizen points in order to attract more teachers and especially parents, who directly influence the awareness and habits of children.”
Coming to Vietnam since 1995, TMV really marks in Vietnam Automobile Industry Map with significant achievements in production and sales, positively attributes to the development of automobile market as well as Vietnam Automobile Industry; specially attributes to Vietnam through meaningful CSR activities in many fields. 2015 marks 20th Anniversary of TMV in Vietnam market with many meaningful activities in traffic safety field. Attending The third Toyota Traffic Safety Drawing contest – theme “Dream Car”
9 best pictures of the National contest will be submitted to the “The 9th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest” in Japan. For the winners of “Toyota Dream Car Art Contest”, beside the awards of the Organizing Board, each winner and two of their guardians will be invited to attend the Awarding Ceremony and one Japan tour to be held in August, 2015 in Japan.
