Hanoi, 22/10/2020 – Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) collaborates with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) to handover 02 Corolla Cross (01 Cross 1.8 HV & 01 Cross 1.8V) under cooperation program to compare and evaluate the performance of hybrid vehicles and gasoline vehicles in Vietnam. This activity demonstrates the joining hand in research, discussion and development between the manufacturer - Toyota Motor Vietnam and the university - the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Accordingly, HUST is the party that will monitor and evaluate the actual performance of hybrid vehicles and gasoline vehicles in Vietnam, promoting the strengths of each Party, studying the best way to promote environment friendly vehicles in current Vietnam conditions.
At the ceremony, Mr. Hiroyuki Ueda – TMV President said: “As a leading brand in Vietnam, Toyota would like to introduce Hybrid cars in Vietnam to contribute to minimize the negative impact of using car, protecting the environment, supporting the Government's orientation to encourage environmentally friendly vehicles.
In August, Toyota Vietnam officially launched Corolla Cross – the first model Hybrid technology in Viet Nam. We believe that this technology is suitable for use in Vietnam that does not require infrastructure, especially can be applied effectively, improve air quality and contribute to solve environment issues.
And today, I am very pleased to be here to warm up the cooperation program with HUST to evaluate the efficiency of Hybrid technology in operating traffic conditions in Viet Nam. Thereby, prove the above statement is correct.”

Asscociate Professor – Doctor of Philosophy Nguyen Phong Dien, Vice Principal of Hanoi university of Science and Technology (HUST) also spoke at the ceremony: “I appreciate the cooperation between Toyota Vietnam and the School of Transportation Engineering (STE) under HUST about research, development and evaluation on the efficiency of hybrid technology in Vietnamese condition. I firmly believe that this research project will be successful and meaningful for the training and research of the University, especially for students of the School of Transportation Engineering (STE).”

Also at the ceremony, under the cooperation with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Toyota Motor Vietnam also organizes Safe Driving Instructions and Hybrid Technology Introduction program. The students have the opportunity to be answered questions about Hybrid technology and introduced safe driving instructions from Toyota technicians.

For references: Accordingly, in October, Toyota Vietnam also handovered 01 Hybrid Camry to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) under cooperation program to compare and evaluate the performance of hybrid vehicles and gasoline vehicles in Vietnam. This activity demonstrated the joining hand between the manufacturer and the authority. As of Feb’20, total Toyota’s HEV global sales reach 15 million units, the global fuel savings has reached 47,000 million liters, and CO2 emission has saved more than 120 million tonnes compared to the internal combustion engine vehicles. |
