Hanoi Capital, 24th January, 2015 – Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF) and Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) officially announce to continuously implement the Toyota Scholarships 2014 for excellent technical and environment students. This year, the Toyota Scholarship Program 2014 will award 115 scholarships (4 million VND for each scholarship) to 115 execellent technical and environment students from 16 universities in the country, with the total value of 460 million VND. In addition to that, within the scope of the program, this year TMV also grant 16 gearboxes of Camry, Corolla and Vios for better assist in their teaching facilities and activities.
Started in 1997, after 17 consecutive year of implementation, with 1.921 scholarships awarded, the Toyota Scholarship Program has been encouraged the learning spirit and promote the creativity in science researching for students in universities as well as to actively contribute to the human resources training and development for Vietnam industry in general and the automobile industry in particular.
This year, Toyota Scholarship Program 2014 will be held in 5 cities/provinces including: Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho city, Da Nang city, Hanoi capital, Vinh city from 13 to 27 Jan 2015. According to that, it will be held in TMV’s plant for students of 9 Northern universities today, 24 Jan 2015.
Especially, 59 students from Northern universities including: Hanoi University of Science and Technology; University of Transportation; Hanoi University of Industry; University of Economy & Technology; Quang Ninh Univerisity of Industry; Nam Dinh University of Technical training; Vietnam University of Marine; Thai Nguyen University; Hung Yen University of Technical Training, will have the opportunity of joining in TMV’s plant tour for learning about the production process of completed assembling Toyota vehicle in Vietnam.
In 27 January, the Awarding Ceremony will continue being held in Vinh University of Technical Training.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Yoshihisa Maruta – President of TVF, President of TMV said: ``In 2015, TMV will celebrate the 20th year anniversary. Taking this chance, we would like to show our appreciation to Vietnam as well as TMV’s vision in the next 10 years. We desire to expand and start new CSR activities, focusing on Traffic Safety, Education, Sports & Culture. Thus, we are now studying what CSR activities would more contribute to Vietnam society.TMV always believe in young students who are valuable property for company and society. Besides, human resouces development is the best way to develop sustainable society. Thus, we always piority focus on Education & Training. In future, we will continue to improve this program.``
Over the past 19 years of operation and development, with the commitment of being a good citizen in the local community, TMV has always made positive contributions to Vietnam’s society. Especially, TMV has always put priority to promote the social contribution activities in education, training and human development. Therefore, since the establishment, TMV has contributed more than 19 million USD for social contribution activities in Vietnam.
